Seven Gables Real Estate —
Altadena "The Cottage" Office
With a background in construction, building materials, and architectural
restoration, Tom Bowers brings a boots-on-the-ground approach to real estate
that few can match. A lifelong resident of the greater Pasadena area, Tom knows
the San Gabriel Valley like the back of his hand—from Altadena and Pasadena to
South Pasadena, La Cafiada, Sierra Madre, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, San
Marino, San Gabriel, Monrovia, and Arcadia.
Before earning his
real estate license in 1987, Tom rehabbed residential homes for resale with
Vintage Homes out of Eagle Rock and served as lumber manager at OLE'S in South
Pasadena. His passion for preserving architectural integrity led him to become
a member of Pasadena Heritage, where he completed extensive coursework in
properly restoring the architecturally significant homes the area is known for.
Tom's hands-on expertise and
deep construction knowledge set him apart in the marketplace. In 1993, he
earned his Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation—awarded to only the top
5% of Realtors nationally—and has spent nearly four decades helping clients
navigate everything from severe fixer properties to new construction and
architecturally distinctive homes. His approach is refreshingly direct: he
starts by identifying what clients don't want, then digs deeper into what they
do want and why. Tom never sugarcoats the truth, even if it means delivering
tough news about expectations or what it will take to achieve a client's goals.
What clients can count on is his all and fierce loyalty, along with his promise
to be the "eye of the hurricane" during the buying or selling
process.
Altadena is home for Tom—he's been a resident for 30 years,
raised his family there, and even managed the Cottage office for another
real estate company 25 years ago. After losing his home in the devastating
Eaton Canyon wildfire, Tom returned to the community he loves and immediately
got to work. He's now an active member of Altadena Heritage, the Altadena Historical
Society, the Altadena Guild, and the Altadena Chamber of Commerce. As he sees
it, the main part of his job and career going forward is to help the people and
city of Altadena get back on their feet. When he's not working, Tom enjoys
hiking, camping, fishing, road trips, cooking, antique shopping, gardening, and
cheering on his beloved USC Trojans. He's also the proud father of a daughter
currently completing her residency as an OB/GYN in Columbus, Ohio.
At Seven Gables, Tom found his
tribe—an independent, family-owned brokerage where personal service tailored to
each client's unique needs isn't just accepted, it's celebrated. As the Highest
Producing New Partner at Seven Gables Real Estate Company, Tom is proving that
the rebel alliance approach works. After 38 years of developing relationships
and eaming friendships in real estate, his message to clients is simple:
"I've got this"
