Getting to know Sierra Madre

Incorporated as a city on February 2,1907, Sierra Madre with a population of about 500, became one of the San Gabriel Valley's most unique cities. Giving canyon access to one the only source of timber for the building of the San Gabriel Valley. Sierra Madre has served important role in the development of the entire San Gabriel Valley. Today Sierra Madre is a quiet and safe city that has retained much of it's original charm and character. Blessed with an abundance of much sought after architecture and mature tree lined streets. There is a strong sense of community found here with 4th of July parades, community picnics and band concerts in the park. There is a section of the city which abuts the Mt. Wilson hiking trail, referred to as "Mary's Kitchen". There are quaint small houses and cabin's hare a dam and a stream that run's through the little village and of course "Mary's General Store and Restaurant."  Houses go for a premium price here and the competition for them is stiff, but the worth for all is found here is justified.
