Getting to know Altadena
Altadena, founded in 1887 as an unincorporated area of Los Angeles, was part of a Spanish land grant, like the "Rancho San Pascual," which covered a large area of Pasadena. Located at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains, Altadena is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty, hiking trails, a plethora of noted architecturally significant homes, a vibrant and growing shopping district and an expansive golf course.
Unfortunately, the Eaton Canyon Wild fire which took place on 01/07/2005, took many homes as well as a large part of the business district. However, the re-building is in full force and the number of cleared lots which are build ready are plentiful. The median price range for single family homes found here start at $850,000 $1,600,000 and range up to between $2,000,000 to $4,000,000. One of the common characteristics found here for home buyers are large lots with mature trees and a generous helping of safety, peace and quiet. Due to all of this, property values are on the rise!
